Crystal Makle

Crystal began her dance training at 9 years old at Artistic Dance Academy.  She trained in tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and Cecchetti ballet, successfully completing the professional level Cecchetti Grade 5 exam. She was a member of the ADA Company and worked as a student assistant and student teacher until graduating high school.

In college, Crystal was the co-founder, captain & choreographer for 4 years of the Towson University Pom Squad. As a professional dancer, she was a member of the Baltimore Blast Cheerleaders for 4 seasons and a member of several arena football dance teams. Crystal has trained and performed with various companies including DHH Dance Collective, Allure Dance DC, and Joy of Motion Dance Center. She has had the opportunity to choreograph for dance companies, dance teams, hip hop crews, pageants and soloists throughout the area.

In 2005, Crystal returned to her dance home, ADA, to teach and choreograph. She uses her experience as a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor to complement her dance instruction. Crystal earned her Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree in elementary education and is a full-time elementary school teacher. She continues to train in all styles of dance and performs when she’s not busy with her students.

Dominique Stewart

Dominique, 27, began her dance training at Artistic Dance Academy at 3 years old. She studied various forms of dance including Cecchetti Ballet Method, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, modern, and hip hop and began Co-teaching at age 15. Her accolades include a Dancer of the Year award and Special Judges awards for flexibility, as well as many high scoring solo awards. Miss Dominique went on to further her dance education at AMDA New York, where she studied voice, Broadway style jazz and tap, and acting. She recently received her Acrobatic Arts Dance Teaching Certification to further educate herself and her competitive students here at Artistic. Miss Dominique’s talent goes beyond the dance studio as she has studied early childhood education and has been working in early childhood programs, daycares, and nanny positions for 10 years now. She is going into her 13th year teaching here. Miss Dominique continues her passion for dance through her teachings here at ADA.

Nakia Talley

Nakia, originally from Forestville, Maryland, has been blessed to work and train with many wonderful artists in the US and abroad. She began her dance training with The esteemed Cindy King  at The Cindy King Dance Studio (Now ADA), where she studied ballet, jazz, and tap.

She later added Modern Dance as well as West African dance to her repertoire via The Alvin Ailey School of Dance. For many years she danced with Washington DC based Spirit Wings Dance Company under the direction of Dr. Sandy Mitchell. There she had the opportunity to dance alongside such amazing artists as Steve Rooks (formerly of the Martha Graham Company) Freddie Moore, Hope Boykin, and Matthew Rushing (Alvin Ailey). She moved to Houston TX to dance with Ad Deum Dance Company under Randall Flinn from 2007-2010. With both Spirit Wings and Ad Deum she travelled nationally and internationally.  Ms. Talley has also performed as a group member and soloist in the international festival Project Dance New York and Project Dance DC.  Currently she resides in maryland and both teaches and choreographs for local groups and schools.
